What is Osteoporosis?
Osteoporosis can be defined as a loss of bone mass, which
can subject an individual to fracture of the bone, which
ordinarily would not occur if the bone were present with
its full complement of mineral. It has been known to affect
20 million Americans and is the couse of 1.5 million fractures
a year. Other affects of this condition are loss of heigh
and formation of a dowager’s hump (hunched back). Certain
individuals, are at a greater risk of developing osteoporisis,
are those of white or Asian descent, or of families who
have had osteoporosis,. People, who are inactive or indulge
in smoking, alcohol use, or have poor dietary intake of
calcium are also at risk. Click

Neisseria meningitides is a bacteria which lives in the
nasal passages and throats of 15% of the general population.
It is not known what caused this bacteria to become known
virulent and inflict the disease of meningitis. Neisseria
m. affects 1/100,000 people in the United States per year
with a peak incidence among children less than 2 years of
age and adolescents between the ages of 15 through 25. There
has been an increase incidence of Neisseria meningitis among
university students in their first semester living in a
dormitory setting. The key symptoms of meningitis include:
fever, headache, nausea and vomiting, avoidance of bright
light, stiff neck, a diffuse skin rash which involves bleeding
under the skin and an altered sense of consciousness. It
should be known that not all meningitis is caused by Neisseria
m; there are other bacterial and viral causes of meningitis.

Colon Cancer…… If Detected Early Enough Can be
Curable
Colorectal cancer accounts for the third most common malignancy,
resulting in 60,000 deaths in the US per year. This disease
affects males and females equally and is commonly found
between the ages of 60-80. Risk factors for development
of colorectal cancer include a diet high in fat and low
in fiber, excess alcohol consumption, cigarette smoking,
sedentary life style and a family history of colon cancer.

Chronic Cough, Wheezing…Could
Be Asthma
Asthma affects 10 percent
of children and 5 percent of adults. The disease is characterized
as an increased irritability of the airways, which can lead
to inflammation, and narrowing of the airway system. Symptoms
of asthma include shortness of breath with worsening on
exertion, wheezing (a musical noise heard with breathing),
increased breathing rate along with a strained pattern of
breathing, fatigue, and chronic cough. Click
